Editorial objectives

The Journal of Property Investment & Finance is an international forum for the interchange of information and ideas relating to property valuation and investment, property management and decision making in the commercial property market. The aim is to inform and encourage debate internationally between academics and practising professionals in all aspects of real estate research and practice.  

Editorial criteria

The Journal seeks to:

• Publish well-written, readable articles of intellectual rigour with a theoretical and practical relevance to the real estate profession
• Address subjects of major interest and practical importance to the real estate professions
• Improve property appraisal, finance and investment skills by promoting awareness of new theories, applications and related concepts and their implications for market conditions
• Assist the property professional in keeping up-to-date with developments in real estate law, internet sites and recent publications
• Provide a cumulative source of refernce material

Fully refereed papers on practice and methodology in the UK, continental Western Europe, emerging markets of Eastern Europe, China, Australasia, Africa and the USA, in the following areas:

Topicality

Recent changes in the property market has already forced major rethinking within the industry. Practitioners are under great pressure to improve professional education and policing standards, and separate transaction and advisory business, to prevent property advice falling outside the mandate of chartered surveyors into less well regulated hands. The journal tackles central issues such as this to keep industry practitioners informed on current thinking and developments.
